Remote sites are where assumptions get expensive. This checklist helps you gather the inputs vendors need to give you reliable pricing and reliable uptime.
The 10 questions
- What is the exact address and pin drop for placement?
- How wide is the access route (gates/turns), and is the ground stable?
- What are the delivery and pickup windows (including gate staffing)?
- What is the power plan (shore power specs or generator plan)?
- What is the fuel plan (who fuels, when, and access)?
- What is the potable water plan (source + refill cadence)?
- What is the wastewater plan (storage + pumping cadence + disposal)?
- What are the operating hours and peak windows?
- What is the staffing model (attended vs on-call)?
- What is the contingency plan (backup vendor/contact, overflow windows)?
How to use this checklist (fast, effective)
Before you request quotes, collect:
- pin drops (placement + service points)
- photos/video of the access route and placement pad
- known constraints (quiet hours, dust control, gate staffing, curfews)
Then send the same packet to every vendor. Consistent inputs = consistent bids and fewer day‑of surprises.
